The Mako 4.8 is like no other yacht plan or boat kit on the market!
The yacht designs utilizes many inexpensive sailboard parts.
Features include, a fully adjustable pivoting mast and centre board
and a self-bailing cockpit.
The Mako 4.8 can also carry sails from 6.0 metres to 8.5 metres.
It's as fast to rig as a sailboard and needs only a mainsheet, block and 2 pulleys.
The kit is designed in such a manner that once cutout, it slots together
using tabs and keyways, similar to a plastic model.
This design makes the kit jig free and easy for first time boat builders.
The yacht is extremely low cost to construct and easy very to sail.
With a cockpit size of around 2.75 x 1.6 metres it can
easily accommodate 2 adults and 2 children.
It's important to note that when you purchase the Mako 4.8 kit
you are not buying old fashioned Boat or Yacht Plans.
There's no need for lofting or complicated jig construction.
The concept is for an easy to build and easy to sail, go fast yacht
There's no need to be a boat builder, you just need some basic power tools,
some room and the ability to mix Epoxy Glue.
In fact you may have noticed from the slide show above, the Yacht Kit above was fully constructed at home in a gravel car port.
